National heritage of Nepal

Nepal is rich in culture and religion. There is complete harmony in Nepalese society. The world heritage means anything handed over to the present generation from the past. They are the most valuable assets of the onation. These national heritage reflect the feeling, traditional, civilization and aspiration of the past. They are the glory of our past.
Temples, monasteries, rest house, inns etc are our religious heritages where as language, dress, arts, way of living are our cultural heritages. Similarly, Himalayas, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and national parks are our natural heritages. All of them are our national property. Sagarmatha National Park and Chitwan National Park were included in the list of world heritage by UNESCO in 1979 AD and 1984 AD respectively.
We have many religious, cultural and national heritages. National heritages play vital role in our life. Among national heritages, forest is one of them. It is said “hariyo ban Nepal koDhan”. But due to uncontrolled population growth, the forest area is decreasing rapidly. If forest is destroyed there will be no rain and water resources will be dry up. The fertile land turns into barren land causing great decrease in fertility. It can cause famine and various national disasters. So, to protect human civilization, it is necessary to protect forest. Forest is of economic importance also. Many medicinal herbs are there which can be used in medicine production. It is the habitat of wild animals and birds, which , if protected, can be a great source of tourism promotion. Now, it is our duty to conserve such beneficial forest sector. For this, public awareness is vital. We must not depend on the government only to conserve our forest resources. Now, there are various NGOs are active in this field. The government has also developed the concept of community forest, leasehold forest and private forest to protect forest area.
